The 553rd birthday of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, will be celebrated at Nankana Sahib from November 6 to November 8. Three trains for Indian pilgrims will leave from Wagah station to get to Nankana Sahib.
After the main ceremony, the Sikh pilgrims will go to Sacha Sauda Aminabad, Hasan Abdal, and Kartapur. On November 14, they will go back to Lahore Gurdwara Dera Sahib, where they will perform their religious rites. On November 15, they will go back to India through the Wagah border.
It has been agreed to operate a rack of coaches, made up of three trains, out of Wagah railway station for the ease of Indian Sikh pilgrims. These pilgrims would cross into Pakistan at the Wagah border crossing on foot after passing immigration formalities. An express train will depart from Wagah and arrive at Nankana Sahib in time for the Guru Nanak birthday festivities.
